Why This Exists
I didn't set out to start a hat company. I started BOLLIDE because I watched my wife struggle to find a hat that didn't damage her hair.
Every "luxury" hat we bought had the same flaw: a rough cotton sweatband that caused friction, breakage, and frizz. It didn't matter if the hat cost $50 or $500 the inside was always the same.
So, I engineered the solution. I replaced the abrasive cotton with medical-grade, silver-ion silk. The result is the first hat designed to treat your hair, not just cover it.

Let me start by confessing that I’ve never liked, nor owned, a baseball cap. To be fair, I generally don’t like hats and only have them for travel. My go-to for travel has been a packable straw Panama that does a great job of both shielding my face from the sun and keeping me dry in light rain. The downside is, even folded, it takes up a lot of room in my bag or carry-on.
When Bollide started popping up in my feed. I was drawn to the neutral colorways and luxe, minimal detailing. I don’t like loud clothing, and LOVE high quality materials and focus on details. The hat looks very well “tailored”, if that makes sense. Bollide reminds me of Ralph Lauren and Loro Piana, two of my favorite heritage brands.
I have naturally thick and wavy hair, and sleep on a silk pillow to tame the frizz. That Bollide is lined in silk and doubles as hair care is a definite plus!! I’m going to retire my Panama hat and am excited to take Bollide with me on my travels. It packs down to nothing and conveniently comes with a lined travel pouch.
