Why This Exists
I didn't set out to start a hat company. I started BOLLIDE because I watched my wife struggle to find a hat that didn't damage her hair.
Every "luxury" hat we bought had the same flaw: a rough cotton sweatband that caused friction, breakage, and frizz. It didn't matter if the hat cost $50 or $500 the inside was always the same.
So, I engineered the solution. I replaced the abrasive cotton with medical-grade, silver-ion silk. The result is the first hat designed to treat your hair, not just cover it.

I have never been able to comfortably wear hats. Living in Miami, I need sun protection, but every hat I have tried has made my head and forehead perspire so much that I eventually stopped wearing them altogether.
I purchased the BOLLIDE Silk-Lined Hat in Alabaster hoping this one might be different, and it truly is. I recently wore it outside in the Miami heat, around 90°F, and remained completely comfortable. I honestly forgot I was wearing it.
I am also very particular about protecting my hair — I sleep on silk pillowcases and use silk hair ties — so the beautiful silk lining was especially important to me.
Beyond the comfort, the hat is elegant, understated and beautifully made. It looks polished rather than sporty, which is exactly what I wanted.
After years of believing I simply could not wear hats, I finally found one I can wear and genuinely enjoy. I am already planning to add more colors.
